Mixed media assemblage with found photograph on antique wood from window jamb.

To me, this antique wood is artwork in itself, with layers of paint, hand formed grooves and beautiful grain. The wood from this period was slow growth, which gives it a texture different than any you can buy today. The bottom edge of the wood shows color variation from exposure to water over time. This led me to create a piece highlighting the original wooden structure while adding elements of water and age. It is a piece that evokes a sense of memory - both solid and fluid in its way.
